OHC is a cancer and blood disorders physician group, delivering highly specialized, compassionate care to patients with cancer and blood disorders in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. Upon launch of a new website, traffic declined dramatically and OHC was struggling to be found online. Their goal to help people drove their desire to find a solution.
Our first task was to run a site audit which identified the areas of the site that needed immediate attention. One of the things we discovered was a common mistake that is made when a new site is launched. The developer failed to redirect the old site pages to the new ones. The result of this was a large number of pages that were now returning “Page Not Found” errors. Users didn’t like it because they could no longer find the site. Google didn’t like it because they don’t like to serve up bad results. Over the next 2 years, we assisted OHC’s team of designers, developers, social media, paid media and PR experts by maintaining the site to the latest SEO best practices. Our team works with OHC’s content team to provide SEO recommendations and ensure that content is aligned with their keywords. We analyze site data to measure how all efforts are affecting results.
We are constantly focused on how our efforts are helping people. In 3 years, we have increased total traffic 10,530%! That’s right – we went from 138 web visits in May 2013 to 11,750 web visits in May of 2016. Even more impressive is the increase in phone calls! In May 2014, there were 972 calls, and in May of 2016 calls increased to 1,927. People searching for cancer care are finding OHC, calling, and getting the help they need.
